How To Pray The Lords Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13 King James Version (KJV) – Jesus says…
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Do you see how complete this model prayer is? Jesus clearly covers all aspects of prayer to the Father in Heaven from start-to-finish! Now let's see how we can fill up each part of the prayer with petitions and requests.
Simply add your needs, petitions or requests after each sentence of this prayer that applies to that topic. Example: Hallowed be thy name… you can begin worshipping and praising God here with praises found in the book of Psalms. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven… you can pray to the Father that today and tomorrows kingdom plan comes to pass and to pray for the world and world governments.
So you see… this can grow to be a full-blown prayer with each part filled with petitions that God is pleased to hear!
Blessing to you,
